Uncle Carl has been officially classified as "EXPLICIT."
That right folks. Again, working with Red Peters (from the Howard Stern Channel on Sirius Satellite Radio) the Unc's classic song "I'm Too Tired" has been included on the new Red Peter's release, Summer Song Sizzler - on Oglio Records And not only is the song labeled EXPLICIT, but the entire album is as well (and rightly so)! Featuring artists such as Pig Vomit, it's needless to say, this album is not for the faint at heart (or the prudish), it's down right dirty!
Oglio Records has made it available on all the major digital websites, including iTunes, emusic, Kazaa, and Amazon

It's also up on iTunes and some other sites. The EP contains 6 songs that were left behind from the first Uncle Carl album sessions. They suddenly showed up out of the blue - all grown up and on their own.

- 12/18/2007 Uncle Carl's new album and more!
Greetings Nieces and Nephews,
Hope you're enjoying the holiday season!
So the third Uncle Carl album "The End of the World" is finally completed (but sorry to say not yet available). The CD will consist of 12 songs; 11 originals, and the cover/title track originally made popular by Skeeter Davis. The release date is set for December 31, 2007.
But for now, as promised, please listen to a few pre-released tracks on Uncle Carl's myspace page.
And as a special holiday gift for all of Uncle Carl's myspace "friends," please download a song for free! Again, just go to Uncle Carl's myspace page.
UC is very excited about this release, "It was a long time in the making - too long. I can get back to my life now - trouble is I don't remember where I left it." The Unc claims he's a bit uncomfortable with a couple of the songs, "Yeah, there are some songs that are, I guess you could say somewhat sincere." Hmmm...still, not to worry folks; the album has what any Uncle Carl fan would expect; blues tunes, drinking songs, Jesus rants, and even a ditty that borders on pornographic. Stay tuned for CD/download availability!
Now staying in the holiday spirit....
The Uncle Carl song "Have a Hap, Hap, Happy Christmas"is now a ring tone via iTunes. C'mon, don't be a Scrooge, have the cheeriest cell phone ring this season!
And if you'd like to support the troops this season "Have a Hap, Hap, Happy Christmas" is on the 3Point Records holiday compilation release "American Heros" and they are donating 20% of all sales, not profits, to a charity that will get care packages to the troops. It's also available via iTunes
And if the song is not already in your Christmas song library, you can easily download it at iTunes.
And finally, Ann Colville will be releasing a digital EP which includes the songs "Closer" (which the Unc cowrote - from the Trust The Man film and soundtrack album), "Never Be Mine" (the Unc's fav), "You Play Me," and a great rendition of the Bill Wither's hit "Use Me." Stay tuned for the release date (Rumor has it the cover art will be provocative)!
Have a great holiday season!
Peace + Love, UC

The CD: Bring Me Your Children by: Uncle Carl is available now for $6.98 + s/h*

- 08/06/2007 Uncle Carl Update
The tour with Dion continues and the Unc is having a blast! We just finished Florida and Atlantic City dates and now we'll be at the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut this week.
FYI - Dion has been doing a killer blues/acoustic set as part of the show promoting his 2007 Grammy-nominated "Bronx in Blue" album. If you dig Dion and the blues check it out: "Bronx in Blue."
Also, the Unc would like to add how he's enjoying meeting the "Italian community" at the shows, "it's like being part of a bigger family." Danny Aiello came backstage after the show in the Atlantic City and Chaz Palmieri (handsome fellow) came by in Vegas. Bada bing, bada boom!
So the dates are set for the second week of September to mix the 3rd album, Songs From A Young Heep-Knee-Buck. And as promised, the Unc is going to post some of the new tracks up on Uncle Carl's myspace We'll let you know as soon as they're up!
Hope you're enjoying your summer!
Peace + Love, UC
- 06/04/2007 Dion, PBS and pre-released tracks
It's been awhile, so here's a seasonal update of Uncle Carl news....
The Unc will be touring with Dion (starting in Las Vegas this week).
That's right, "The Wanderer" himself - Rock & Roll Hall of Famer - the "Teenager in Love" who gave us such hits as "Runaround Sue" "I Wonder Why" "Abraham, Martin, & John" (UC's personal favorite) and many more!
UC also just taped a new PBS show which is scheduled to air in the Fall (keep you posted on dates and times). The show was filmed at The Ritz Theater in downtown Elizabeth, New Jersey, and during the 3 days of filming only a half dozen cars got broken into; not bad.
And finally, Uncle Carl wants to apologize for the serious delay of the very long awaited 3rd album release. And with the hope of forgiveness, UC will be posting some pre-released tracks up on Uncle Carl's myspace page in the very near future (stay tuned). And if you're not an Uncle Carl myspace "friend" yet, please add Unc to your friends list. There's lots going on there, i.e., listening player, links, single downloads, photos, etc.
- 02/20/2007 Uncle Carl and Robin Williams
Currently on A&E; on The Biography Channel they're airing a Robin Williams biography and the Uncle Carl song "Unless I Get What I Want" is played towards the end of the show. It's not American Idol, but it's TV nonetheless!
Ya know, the Unc has been getting a lot of songs placed on TV lately, if you hear any Uncle Carl songs please let us know. Write us a note at: Notes to the Unc
Peace + Love, UC

Ann's vocal performance is wonderfully unique and fresh!
Stay tuned for the soundtrack release date!

- 10/25/2004 Uncle Carl has the Song of the Week:
…and mixed a bit more harder rockin' edge songs into their repertoire of low down, cool beat, ultra hip, blues style grooves and he/they do the same here. Opening with two songs of their usual blues beat style— "My Heart Is Yours" works off a heavy down beat focusing on Uncle Carl's bourbon soaked, cigarette singed vocals and witty lyrics…
That snippet was from the review of the CD Bring Me Your Children by Uncle Carl.

- 11/29/2002 Uncle Carl Featured in the Brooklyn Journal
The following is an article from the Brooklyn Journal and affiliate newspapers this week. Thanks to Mingo Tull at the Musicians General Store on Court Street for the publishing!
The Brooklyn Journal and its affiliates: The Brooklyn Free Press, The Brooklyn Daily Eagle
Brooklyn Music Tracking Brooklyn Musicians, Here and There Uncle Carl's Latest CD Unleashes Mysteries of the Dark Psyche
While many people shy away or fear the dark side of their psyches, the band Uncle Carl revels in such darkness. In fact its lead singer, also bearing the moniker Uncle Carl, is of the certainty that his "heroes, Hemingway and Poe (among others), are already down" in hell. His bio says, "A master in lyrical character study and storytelling, Uncle Carl imagines that hanging out with like-minded social outcasts is a finer fate than anything old St. Peter might possibly have waiting for him.
Uncle Carl's long-anticipated CD, Bring Me Your Children, which epitomizes the mind behind the artist, has been released, following a five-year wait.
Along with the Uncle on guitar and vocals, the album features Ivan Bodley (Buster Poindexter, Peter Wolf) on bass, Mark Mancini (Drifters, Coasters) on keyboards, and Rich Kulsar (Monkees, Norah Jones) on drums.
Bring Me Your Children is produced by Daniel Wise (Maceo Parker, Dog Eat Dog, and Uncle Carl's first CD).
Uncle Carl songs have been placed in independent films and even on a game show on the Disney Channel. Uncle Carl, the master musician, appears with the Danny Gatton band in a Hot Licks music instructional video (playing bass).
Uncle Carl tours with and/or is the musical director for acts like the Tokens (playing keyboards and singing), Crystals (playing guitar), Shirelles (playing drums or wearing a gown), and Little Anthony and the Imperials. Uncle Carl has toured the world and played on network talk shows.
The Night Guide proclaimed "Uncle Carl is Brooklyn's answer to Dr. John." His legions of devoted and enthusiastic fans concur and note that the live concert experience only adds to the recorded mystique.
The Brooklyn Brewery recently sponsored a party celebrating the new CD's release songs from Bring Me Your Children. The Brewery offered Brooklyn Pilsner and Lager at only $3; and raffles for shirts and other great prizes were given away.
Bring Me Your Children is available through http://unclecarl.net, and can also be purchased at the Musician's General Store.
